Apartments in Ocean Reef: choosing within the islands

The Palms is the starting point for Heritage Select in Ocean Reef. Before comparing sizes, define the outdoor connection you want: a terrace, proximity to shared spaces or a particular sea-facing orientation. Request an identified floor plan and review interior and outdoor areas separately. An island residence and a mainland Punta Pacífica apartment offer different daily routines; visiting both helps determine which fits your life.

The story of Ocean Reef: building a new shoreline

Ocean Reef began as a project for man-made islands off Punta Pacífica. Historical records document construction of the first island between 2011 and 2013, with the main contract signed on January 7, 2011. Construction combined seabed preparation, a rock perimeter and sand filling. That origin explains why its layout, access and relationship with the sea differ from a mainland neighbourhood.

From one island to a residential community

After the first phase, a second, nine-hectare island was added, connected to the first by a bridge. Ocean Reef’s master development now presents two islands, a marina and a low-rise residential layout. The sequence matters: the islands, marina and individual projects have their own functions and terms; they are not one undifferentiated property offer.

Low-rise living opposite the skyline

Visual contrast is part of its character: the towers of Punta Pacífica rise on the mainland, while the islands’ master plan arranges residential lots at a lower scale. The master plan documents 137 lots and height rules according to location. For buyers seeking privacy, that scale matters alongside separation between homes, terrace positions and each residence’s relationship to internal circulation.

The marina as part of everyday life

Ocean Reef Marina advertises more than 150 berths and capacity for vessels up to 60 metres. For an owner who sails, that setting creates an opportunity to consider a closer relationship between home and boating. For others, the appeal is the waterside landscape and atmosphere. Berths, marina services and residential amenities have their own contractual or access conditions.

Island living within the city

Road access comes through Punta Pacífica. This combines an island residential experience with access to mainland shopping and services, including Multiplaza and Pacífica Salud’s Punta Pacífica hospital. Everyday life depends on the route from your home, entrances and schedules. A useful visit includes understanding arrivals, deliveries and visitor arrangements as well as enjoying the view.

Who might feel at home in Ocean Reef

It may appeal to people who value low-rise living, privacy, terraces and proximity to the sea, or a second residence linked to sailing. If you already live in Panama, the useful comparison goes beyond floor area: it is between a mainland tower and an island community. Consider salt-air maintenance, household logistics, entertaining space and how crossing the bridge would change your routine.

The islands have their own identity

Ocean Reef is an island community connected to the mainland through Punta Pacífica. Evaluate it as a specific location within that wider setting, with its own access and services. The marina shapes its nautical character; owning a residence does not establish a berth or unrestricted access to every service.

A closer look at The Palms

The Palms is the Heritage portfolio offering in Ocean Reef. Heritage presents residences with terraces and shared spaces by the sea. During a visit, examine the relationship between the apartment, the landscape and shared areas, as well as conditions for using the beach, pier and other facilities.

Visit the surroundings too

Check visitor access, deliveries and the route from the island to your regular destinations. Ask about maintenance, exposure to the marine environment and parking. If boating is part of your lifestyle, request specific information from the marina before making it part of your decision.

How to read a “from” price

When a documented commercial reference is available, Heritage shows its amount and date. It may apply to a particular layout, tower or floor; it does not confirm live availability or represent the lowest price across the entire neighbourhood. Before deciding, request a current quotation for the home, included finishes and parking, and costs to review separately.

Places that define the setting.

Ocean Reef Marina
The community’s boating component, with dedicated vessel services.
Punta Pacífica
The road connection to the city and its services.
The Palms
The Heritage portfolio project within Ocean Reef.

Bring these three topics.

  • Resident and visitor access
  • Views and marine exposure
  • Marina and amenity conditions
Are Ocean Reef and Punta Pacífica the same location?

Ocean Reef connects through Punta Pacífica, but the islands have their own access and residential experience. These guides distinguish the two settings.
